3 Holiday Hairstyles Anyone Can Do In Just 5 Minutes

I cannot believe that New Year Eve’s is just hours away!  You know what that means. It’s time to put on your sequins, add a little sparkle and of course bring out the bling. But before heading out to indulge in (hopefully) an open bar and all you can eat grubs, why not try something new and out of the box with you hair.

Sure sleek tresses and bouncy curls are fabulous, but let’s go bold this holiday season. It’s time you let your hair down and live a little! To give you some hairspiration, I’ve rounded up some pretty hip and trendy styles perfect for your night of dancing, schmoozing, and libations.

Happy Holidays!

side ponytails

1. Side ponytail with a braid: Worn straight or curly, the asymmetry provides style and class that regular ponytails can’t. Jennifer Hudson totally slayed this look. To style it yourself, start with a deep side part. Use a curling iron or hot rollers if you want waves, and of course you do. Then use a strong root spray for volume, tease the crown, and wrap hair around and into a ponytail. Add a little pizazz to your look with some sexy side-swept bangs and a fishtail braid.

brandy - weaves and wigs

2. Snatch a wig or get clip-in extension: This is a brilliant way to spice up New Year’s Eve. Go for the big Brandy curls and instantly transform your short cut into a fabulous swoon-worthy style. You could also clip in individual extensions of contrasting color to add some flair.

pompadour styles

3. Pretty Pomp: Perfect for the girl (like me) who hates hair all running about in her face. Beginning with dry, straight strands, tease the top front part of your hair with a teasing comb to recreate Zoe Saldana’s mini pompadour. Or if you are truly a savvy DIY girl, try french braiding the back of your hair for the ultimate wow factor.
